I consciously went about buying several purple/lavender roses this year. I wanted something to offset the orange, apricot, and yellow roses that have attracted me in the past. Blushing Lavender is a grandiflora rose that stood out to me in the Jackson & Perkins catalog. The stems are a bit thin and don’t always survive a bird’s landing, but that is a small nuisance when I look at the large blooms the bush produces. This is a rose that I want to catch early in the flowering cycle to ensure I capture the soothing lavender color of the petals. But even if I wait a day, I will still get a well-formed pink blush rose to share.
