Her fully double flowers feature showy, fragrant orange flowers with gold overtones and pink streaks at the ends of the branches throughout the growing season. Rosie The Riveter produces an arsenal of unusual flowers that are a treat to see during all stages of its bloom cycle. As much as I like the orange and pink color of a new flower, I absolutely love the faded cream color that accompanies the well-defined ruffles of the petals when the rose matures. I wish the local rose shows appreciated the older blooms as much as the fresh, new blooms that score the wins each weekend. The older blooms seem limited to the black-and-white category in the photography division. Too bad. I think they’re missing out on an awesome stage of the flower’s life cycle.
