I like this hybrid tea rose’s looks and hope it outperforms professional nursery growers’ expectations. Apparently, it prefers cooler weather. Well, that only describes a sliver of our conditions in Arizona. I didn’t pick up on the warnings from every nursery listing for the rose until after it arrived at my door. We’ll see how this season develops. Early season growth has been good.
To protect the plant, I have placed it in a large container on the west side of my garden, which benefits from the shade and slightly cooler temperatures offered by the large mesquite trees lining my property. I’m glad I can see some beautiful early-season blooms because I fear it might become dormant on me during the summer. It’s a plant to which I will need to pay special attention.
Over The Moon is a peach-apricot rose with yellow reverse petals. Its flowers have a double, high-centered to cupped bloom form, which is borne mostly solitary.
